What is special about June
- The midnight sun. Beyond the Arctic Circle the sun does not set; on North Cape cruises you can see it at midnight.
- Midsummer. In late June Scandinavia celebrates midsummer — a lively time in Baltic ports.
- Book before July. June is still before the summer school holidays in most of Northern Europe, so many ships are less full than in July.
- Light nights. If you sleep badly in daylight, pack an eye mask.
No flight needed
From Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Hamburg ships sail to the fjords every week in summer, and longer voyages head for Iceland and the North Cape.
Booking a June cruise with points
Every way of paying in the club also works for sailings in June that are available in the club. You choose one per booking: the member price (INsider Pricing), roughly 17% below the listed price, or your Reward Points, which can cover up to half of the cruise price; they do not add up. To pay up to 100% with points, the booking must be made at least 270 days before departure — for a cruise in June, that is roughly September or early October of the year before — and you need to have accumulated enough points by then.
