With this method, the second half of the price costs more points than the first (see below). You need to have enough points saved up first — the points must already be in your own account when you book.
How It Works
This method is called All Reward Points, and it became a standing option for every paying member — new or existing — as of March 2026. The rule is simple: you book 270 days or more before departure. What counts is the day you make the booking. Two things to know: the price match guarantee and Trip Protection do not apply to this method, and you must save up enough points before you book.
How Many Points You Need
How points are counted when you pay the whole cruise in points: the first half of the price is paid at the usual rate, 1 point = $1. The second half — the part you would normally pay in money — is also paid in points, but at 2 points per $1.
Example (illustrative numbers): a $4,800 cruise = 2,400 points + 4,800 points = 7,200 points.
That is why the best value is usually “points + payment”; paying fully in points makes sense when you have saved more points than half the price needs.
Why the 270-Day Rule Exists
Cruises are often booked well in advance anyway — sometimes 7 to 18 months out — so this option rewards a habit many travelers already have. It's particularly useful for trips tied to a known future date: an anniversary, a milestone birthday, a retirement trip, or simply next year's big getaway.
